Everybody knows the Appalachian Trail, and after doing a miniscule few miles in Western Maryland all I can say is: mad respect to the through hikers.

Celebrating Maryland’s Indigenous Voices

Pause for a moment and reflect on the first few things that come to mind when you read the words Native American, American Indian, or Indigenous American. I’d be willing to bet that you probably did not imagine someone in an urban setting, commuting to an office job, trudging tiredly through their local grocery store after a long week at work. Yet nearly all (78%) of Indigenous Americans live outside of tribal territories, many in urban areas.
